Task 2 -  The Carosel
Chris and Steve (Plus other Creative Studies Teachers)

As a Creative Studies Student you will attend over the first 5 weeks on a Tuesday and Wednesday, a range of workshops and lectures put on for you by various Creative Studies teachers from Photography, Fashion Art and Design and Media. During this time you will maintain a Blog that will be a diary of all the things that you achieved in this time.  

The aim of these sessions is to research and try a number of different skills that might impact your future photography projects. These workshops allow you to see a number of different areas of the Creative Studies department, try new things and use these skills  enrich your coursework through your time here. 

During the carousel you will be assessed on your Wordpress blog diary entries that discuss the activities that you undertook and how you achieved the following:


2a. Context and Research (Mondays Week 2 to 5)

Divise a Wordpress page that enables you to detail your understanding of:
·          Visual Languge
·          Creative Activity
·          Materials
·          Processes
·          Technical skills

Unit 1.1.1  An exploration of elements of visual language as a tool for creative activity
Unit 4.1.1  An exploration of a range of materials, processes and technical skills used in art and design

2b. Experiment (Problem Solving and Planning) (Tuesdays and Wednesdays Week 2 to 5 )
Through taking part and writing a diary detailing:

Unit 4.1.2 & 4.1.3  An exploration of the application of materials, processes and technical skills to meet specified goals in art and design assignment(s)

2d. Present (Evaluation and Research) (Thursday Week 2 to 5)

Unit 1.2.2 The use of discussion groups to analyse the effectiveness of elements of visual language to achieve identified creative goals.
Unit 4.1.4 The use of discussion groups to analyse the effectiveness of various materials, processes and technical skills to achieve the identified creative goals.

Week 2 Semiotics
